EarthWorks
Earthworks is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting communities and the environment from the destructive impacts of mineral development , in the U.S. and worldwide. EarthWorks fulfills its mission by working with communities and grassroots organizations to reform government policies, improve corporate practices, influence investment decisions and encourage responsible materials sourcing and consumption. They expose the health, environmental, economic, social and cultural impacts of mining through work informed by sound science. The organization is leading the No Dirty Gold Campaign which includes the Espolon mine claim. EarthWorks provides the technical support necessary to combat the proposed mine in the Futaleufu River Valley.

Natural Resource Defense Council
Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is a non-profit organization based out of the United States who uses law, science and the support of its large member base to protect the planet's wildlife and wild places, ensuring a healthy environment for all life on earth. Presently, the organization is working to protect Patagonia's rivers from damming projects, specifically the HydroAysen project that is set to dam the Pascua and Baker Rivers located south of Futaleufu. NRDC's staff includes lawyers, scientists and policy analysts with experience working internationally and at the governmental level. Additionally, NRDC's extensive member base offers the opportunity to reach a large audience through a quick medium.

International Rivers
International Rivers' mission is to protect rivers and defend the rights of communities that depend on them. They oppose destructive dams and the development model they advance, and encourage better ways of meeting people's needs for water, energy and protection from damaging floods. International Rivers' Patagonia Campaign aims to support the Chilean people's fight against plans to dam two of Chile's most powerful and pristine rivers, the Baker and Pascua Rivers.

Private Reserves Network
The Private Reserves Network aims to establish the world's first network of private protected areas by providing useful conservation tools for small and large landowners. PRN unites private conservation efforts and provides tourism options for travelers. PRN staff has traveled throughout Latin America visiting member parks, speaking with stakeholders, and developing plans for future PRN projects with the purpose of improving and expanding private conservation worldwide.

Ecosistemas
Ecosistemas is a Chilean non-governmental, autonomous and independent non-profit organization, comprised of people with diverse professional backgrounds. The founders of Ecosistemas have assumed the challenge to understand, recognize the value of, to nurture, and to protect our ecosystems and our natural and cultural heritage, with the commitment to incorporate in all our activities the principles of respect for the environment, human beings, and democracy. Ecosistemas has involvement in a number of campaigns in PAtagonia, including the PAtagonia Sin Represas campaign.

The Nature Conservancy - Chile
The mission of the Nature Conservancy is to preserve the plants, animals, and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive. The Nature Conservancy has been collaborating with partners in Chile to conserve the ecologically important lands and waters for people and for nature. It recently developed the law for conservation easements in Chile and submitted it Congress. FutaFriends is working with The Nature Conservancy in developing the wording necessary to correctly describe and explain land trusts to land owners and NGO representatives in Chile.

Consejo Aguas Libres
Aguas Libres is Futaleufu's local non-governmental organization established in October 2007 by community members entirely made up of volunteers interested in protecting the Futaleufu River Valley. Aguas Libres' strengths are focused on community education and advocacy, integrating outdoor activities with education objectives. Aguas Libres' objective is to protect and spread the sustainable use of natural resources and promote the protection of the environment in the face of industrial development projects that diminish the natural resources and the uniqueness of the region.

Ilustre Municipalidad de Futaleufu
The municipal government of Futaleufu has been running under the present mayor, Mr. Arturo Carvallo-Pardo, since December 6th, 2000. The Rural Agriculture and Tourism sector of the Municipal government is working on programs that focus on ranching, family gardens, and rural tourism as a way to improve earnings of small agricultural producers with limited resources. Such programs include PRODESAL, the Local Development Program, New Opportunities of Development Program, and FODETUR.
